London - Day Three - Soho, Covent Garden, Chinatown, Theatre District and all points in between
Our Airbnb was located in Pimlico which is a great central base for exploring. Heading out in the mornings was very pleasant. We were close to the hustle and bustle but not IN it. It was a perfect location.
We headed into the Theatre District and Covent Garden. London is a multitude of villages. If you happen to be short on time, I recommend this area for a big slice of London life.
The hanging baskets were stunning. We were lucky that the weather was holding and the baskets were at their absolute peak.
We were excited to see the Sondheim Theatre where we would be seeing Les Miserables in a few days.
There is never a shortage of great restaurants in London. We stumbled upon a small place called Prix Fixe Brasserie on Dean Street, a lovely quiet side street with excellent people-watching. Note: Londoners seem effortlessly fashionable.
Covent Garden is a wonderful destination. We were able to take in a vintage market as well as listen to a phenomenal opera singer.. There is also a gorgeous Glossier store (housed in the oldest building in Covent Garden) and I made a few purchases.
They have a very unique system to deliver your packages once they fill your order.
We popped into an old-school pub called the Cross Keys for a couple of drinks while we thought about where to go for dinner. Ave Mario was the choice and what a great one! We were shocked that they a table for us as it was absolutely packed. It was an incredible dining experience and the atmosphere was electric.
London by night is elevated to a whole new level of amazing. I think our walk home was about 45 minutes and worth every minute of it.
Good night, beautiful London. See you in the morning. xo
