This post was bittersweet. One more sleep and then homeward bound. I’m so happy I have been able to relive each day with these blog posts.
Day 7 - Chelsea Embankment, Chelsea Physic Garden, Kensington Palace, Notting Hill, Portobello Road
Another great day, another great play. Hamilton! It was incredible and lived up to the hype.
This day was packed full of highlights. Two world-class restaurants and seeing Les Miserables at the Sondheim Theatre. Epic!
London just keeps on giving. We discovered Marylebone today and then had a lovely tour of monuments on the open-topped bus and the lovely Thames River cruise.
Day three and we were really feeling comfortable. So much to see and still so much to look forward to.
Today we walked into Chelsea and had an amazing brunch at the Ivy Chelsea Garden. I just love Chelsea!
Join me for day one, our first full day in London. Waking up in London is the best feeling. Monuments, palaces, and world-class shops await.
London is one of my favourite cities to visit. It never disappoints and I don’t mind the drizzle.
How 2005, the year I turned 50, that started off with a very sad event, holds one of the most romantic moments in my life.
Nine years in a row, visiting one of the worlds most beautiful and interesting cities. I still pinch myself.
A trip to Yorkshire is good for my soul. I love all of England but Yorkshire is my happy place.
It would be near to impossible to describe Claude Monet's home and garden at Giverny other than to say it is like walking into a Monet painting. We visited back in 2008.
It all started back in 2001 when we took 10 weeks to tootle around the UK. We decided to do some home exchanges as our daughter was two years old having an actual home to stay in would be better than hotel living.
Three years after our first trip to India, we were kindly invited back and spent two weeks in December 2006, with time in Mumbai working at the school and then a week off exploring Matheran and Udaipur. More fairytale locals to experience.
HAVE A PEAK AT OUR INCREDIBLE COTTAGE IN RURAL SOMERSET.
There is so much to see in and around Glastonbury. The abbey, the chalice well, the ancient stones of Stonehenge and Avebury, the beautiful cathedral in Wells, Lacock Abbey, and many quaint villages, no matter which way you turn.
