Waking up in London on day one - October 1, 2022
Waking up in London!! What a thrill. Ashleigh had been up very early and took it upon herself to go to the shops and get some supplies. Delicious coffee, eggs and of course, mimosas for breakfast.
We were still a bit slow so by the time we headed out we were hungry again! No problem in London. We quickly found a pub for some refreshments and food. Then off we set toward Buckingham Palace. The weather was gorgeous.
On our way to Buckingham Palace we passed the gorgeous Victoria Palace Theatre where were to see Hamilton on October 6th. Sooo exciting! Note the gorgeous statue on the cupola of Anna Pavlova.
It was a quiet morning at Buckingham Palace. There was to be a big bike race the next morning and there were baricades in place for the race. We headed for St. James Park to see the lovely birds and walk along the water.
Regent Street and Liberty awaited! So much to see in simply every part of London. We walked and walked and walked until day turned to night. My fitness tracker told me we walked 18,984 steps, 8.6 miles.
I have lost count of how many times we walked by Westminster Cathedral. I have some favourite London landmarks. First is the Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben). Then I love both Westminster and St. Paul’s Cathedrals. Tower Bridge is right up there. London, you are SO pretty!
